Shopping

We played "store" today and it was so much fun. Emma really gets into imaginary play--I love it.

Hmmm...what do I need for dinner this week?

Loading the food on the "conveyor belt"

Credit or debit?

Thank you for shopping at the Bergins and have a nice day!

Proud

I'm so proud of this kid. We started potty-training (for real this time) 11 days ago. The first two days were awful and I thought, "what am I doing???" but I stuck with it and here we are, just 11 days later, and she has been accident-free for several days! Still having issues with Number 2, but that will come. For now, I'm just elated and so proud of my little sweetie! She's growing up so fast! Her reward for filling up her potty chart is a trip to the Lehi "bucket" pool tomorrow. We cannot wait!

I love sister, she loves me....

Love my sweet girls...

I can hear the ocean already....

Do you see what Rachel is holding? A picture of a kid at the beach! And we are headed there in August!!! It is official. We are actually going on a beach vacation! We surprised the kids with this news tonight through a treasure hunt, with the treasure being pictures of the beach in a wrapped-up box. The girls were so excited they could barely contain themselves! And I am right there with them! We are in for a solid week of sunning, swimming, sleeping, sand, and shells in Dana Point, CA (between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach). The beach is calling my name, baby!!! Anybody want me to bring them back some shells?

Hobo Day

My little hobo.
It was hobo day at school on Monday. Try explaining to a five-year-old what a hobo is in non-derogatory terms. I didn't quite know how to dress her, so we opted for an old holey t-shirt of mine, a cap that sort of resembled a newsboy cap (although Emma informed me after school that it was an artist's cap, not a hobo cap), dirt smudges on her face and her lunch tied up on a stick. She was pretty cute, though.

Do you see the dirt smudges on her face? She loved having an excuse to get dirty!

Teeth

Two weeks ago Emma lost her very first tooth. It caught me completely off guard because she had just BARELY turned five. I wasn't expecting the tooth fairy to visit our house until 5 1/2, at least. But alas, the tooth was wiggly and came out in just a few days. My baby really is growing up! That baby tooth was so teeny I almost cried. And you know what the weird part is? The same week Emma lost her very first tooth, Luke's very first tooth cut through the gum. It was a weird circle of life moment. Here's my toothless wonder:

And here's my babe sprouting his first pearly white. See the teensy weensy bit of white on the lower gum? I promise you it's there (just let him chew on your finger and you'll believe me).

A question for all of you bloggers: should the tooth fairy save all of the lost baby teeth or is that weird and gross?

Luke is sitting up! I couldn't resist posting these pictures I took last night. I loved watching him explore the grass. Can't get enough of those baby toes!
BTW, Luke has not even cracked 20 pounds yet! It was a total shock to me. Maybe we're in for a growth slowdown.
