Look who's 6 months old!
Yesterday Luke turned six months old. I can't believe half a year has passed since his birth! Time moves at warp speed with your third kid. He's my cuddle bunny. Next week we'll find out his 6-month stats. I'm guessing 21 pounds. I had to buy him a new car seat because he outgrew the infant carrier! Crazy!

Pinkeye
Our house has been ravaged by pinkeye. Emma woke up with it on Saturday, me on Sunday, Ben on Monday, Rachel on Wednesday, and Luke today. Thankfully, Emma and Ben are over it. I STILL have it, as well as Rachel. Poor Luke--his eyes are nearly swollen shut. He doesn't even look like the same baby. He can't see hardly at all and yet he's still so happy. It just breaks my heart to see my little ones' precious eyes so unrecognizable. And then trying to get those darn eye drops actually IN their eyes--four times a day--a nightmare. I hope next week's a better week. I am so DONE with pinkeye. Until then, here's to using an entire bottle of eye drops this week!

Luck o' the Irish
Ben decided to go fishing today at about 10:30am. He drove to his favorite spot for spawning rainbows that run up out of a local reservoir into a small stream. It's like salmon fishing really. 20+ inch fish are common, and the stream is only 10 to 15 feet wide. He caught 20 or so fish in about 2 hours. He kept a 19 inch fish that weighed over 3 pounds and a smaller fish. The large fish is cooking on the grill as this is being written. The smaller fish will be fried tomorrow morning for breakfast. The pictures are evidence that this is no fish story! Taking pictures while landing a large trout is no easy task!

Sick
Ugh....for the past two days I've had tummy issues. I thought it was the flu because I was super achy yesterday. But the achiness is gone today. My tummy is just fed up about something. Hopefully it will go away tomorrow. The one upside of being sick is that it forces me to slow down. I am reminded of how sweet and precious my children are. Yesterday Emma shook five pennies out of her piggy bank, came into my room, and said, "Mom, is this enough to buy something at the store? I really want to buy something for you to help you feel better." Emma also brought me several snacks and drinks throughout the day, without me even asking her. Rachel wanted to be right up on the bed with me giving me lots of love. Luke, as always, charmed me and is the perfect cuddler. And, let's not forget about my honey...Ben pitched in a lot too, fixing meals and caring for kids. Thank you sweet family! Hope to be back in business soon....
